Welcome to
Aesthetic Portraits!

Hey friends, I’m JP!
Photographer, creative director, storyteller, business owner, mother of three, and the human behind Aesthetic Portraits.

I’m based in Alabama, where life these days looks a little slower, a little quieter, and a whole lot more intentional than it used to. After years of constantly chasing, building, surviving, and reinventing myself, I’ve learned something important:

The most meaningful photographs aren’t perfect.
They’re honest.

That belief shapes everything I create.

I’m not here to force stiff poses or manufacture moments that don’t feel real. I’m here to capture the energy between people. The softness. The chaos. The confidence someone forgot they had. The version of you your loved ones already see every day.

The laugh you didn’t plan.
The wind in your hair.
The kid clinging to your leg.
The quiet in-between moments that end up meaning everything later.

That’s the good stuff.

I fell in love with photography around ten years old with a tiny point-and-shoot camera and an imagination far bigger than my skill level at the time.

What started as curiosity eventually became obsession. Then purpose. Then a business.

I launched Aesthetic Portraits as a small business project in 2014 And never gave up over the years while balancing motherhood, careers in accounting, business management, sales, and HR. All these years later, I have continued to build despite life’s challenges & Aesthetic Portraits has truly kept my creativity alive.

Since I began, Aesthetic Portraits has evolved into more than a photography brand. It’s become a creative space where people can show up exactly as they are and leave feeling seen differently than when they arrived.

Outside of photography, I wear a lot of hats.

I’m also a business owner in the cleaning industry, a content creator, merch designer, mentor to fellow creatives, and someone deeply passionate about building a life rooted in freedom, authenticity, and creativity.

I’m a mother of three incredible kids who keep me grounded, inspired, exhausted, entertained, and laughing all at once.

I’ve lived through seasons that changed me completely. Healing from trauma, rebuilding myself, learning how to slow down, rediscovering joy, and figuring out who I actually am outside of survival mode has shaped both my art and the way I connect with people.

These days, I care less about perfection and more about depth.
More about emotion.
More about preserving real life while it’s happening.

Because someday the ordinary moments become the irreplaceable ones.

I don’t believe photography should feel intimidating or transactional.

Whether you’re stepping in front of a camera for the first time, celebrating a milestone, building your brand, documenting your family, or simply wanting portraits that finally feel like you, my goal is to create an experience that feels collaborative, relaxed, artistic, and genuine.

Around here:

You don’t need modeling experience
You don’t need to know what to do with your hands
You don’t need to lose weight, “fix” yourself, or become more photogenic
You deserve to exist beautifully in photographs exactly as you are right now

I’ll guide you through the entire process while still leaving room for real moments to unfold naturally.

The result?
Images that feel less like trends and more like memories with a heartbeat.

Aesthetic Portraits was built on the idea that photography can be both art and evidence.

Evidence that you were here.
Evidence that this season mattered.
Evidence that your life was full of connection, emotion, beauty, and story.

Whether we’re creating something cinematic and editorial or soft and documentary-style, my mission stays the same:

To create photographs that feel alive long after the moment passes.

And honestly?
I still get emotional delivering galleries sometimes.

Because this work matters to me.

Thank you for being here.
Now let’s make something unforgettable together. ✨
